Bistek
This is a super simple Filipino dish that does not take many ingredients. Enjoy this with a side of white rice or cauliflower rice if you’re following a keto/low carb diet.

- Marinate beef in soy sauce, calamansi or lemon juice, and pepper for at least 30 minutes, but not more than an hour.
- In a large deep pan on medium high heat, heat oil and cook onions until slightly brown and caramelized. Remove onions from the pan and set aside.
- Remove beef from marinade and add to the pan and brown. Reserve marinade for Step 5.
- Add garlic and sauté for about a minute with the beef.
- Pour over marinade, onions, and water. Bring to boil. Once it reaches a boil, reduce heat to low and cover.
- Let simmer for at least 40-50 minutes or until beef is tender.
